Opportunity shouldn't depend on your postal code, your network, or whether you learned the hidden rules early. It's part of why I taught gymnastics online.
I competed as a Level 9 gymnast and, as a kid, appeared on a TV show called My Perfect Landing.
Gymnastics was my first lesson in building something people cared about.
I used the attention from the show to teach kids gymnastics across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, which led to brand partnerships, virtual events, and meet-and-greets. I stopped when my goals shifted and kept the skills: storytelling, distribution, trust-building, and learning what people actually want.
LiveDifferent
I had the absolute pleasure of travelling to the Dominican Republic and seeing LiveDifferent’s work firsthand. Their Builds program brings volunteers together with local communities to help build homes and complete projects shaped by the communities’ own priorities.
What stayed with me was the chance to listen, learn, and work alongside others. I’m sharing LiveDifferent here because supporting this work helps make those community-identified projects possible.
